The energy from the warm indoor air is reused before it leaves the building through the ventilation system. Energy can be recovered by a special heat recovery unit, which increases brine temperature and heat pump performance. It works for smaller houses as well as for larger buildings. In commercial properties where ventilation systems are in constant operation, exhaust air can provide as much as 50% of the building’s energy requirements. This system works perfectly with inverter-driven heat pumps where the heat pump can automatically adapt to any desired temperature in the exhaust air.
Advantages:
- Lower running cost and simpler installation (fewer boreholes and volume tanks)
- Improved seasonal performance
- Easy to combine with existing heating and ventilation system
